David Beckham is ready to make some splash ahead of the debut of his Inter Miami in the Major League Soccer. The former midfielder has big plans for the team and we learned in recent hours that he’s interested in bringing one star from Real Madrid.
Becks has reportedly put Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale near the top of his wishlist at Inter Miami. The former Manchester United, Real Madrid star is among the co-owners at the club, which is set to join the MLS next year.
As per El Confidencial (via Sports Mole), Beckham wants to sign a top-level player to increase interest in the franchise ahead of their debut season in America's biggest domestic football league. Bale was rumored to be nearing a move away from Madrid after failing to become the important figure Los Blancos needed last year.
Now, the Welshman, who was heavily linked with a move to China during the summer, is believed to be top of Miami's wishlist for a big, marquee signing. It remains to be seen if Gareth actually wants to go play in America, as he still can draw attention from some of the best clubs in Europe.
The former Tottenham Hotspur winger is not the only option for Miami since this report also notes that Uruguayan strikers Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez are among their more ambitious targets.
If they land any of these players, no doubt they will get a lot of recognition from the very beginning of their MLS journey. We still have to wait until next year, but things look very promising for Beckham and his club.
