The summer transfer window started very well in most European leagues, with some of the biggest clubs in the continent already completing their first deals this week. For instance, Real Madrid announced two blockbuster moves in the same week in Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard and that doesn’t seem like the end for the Spaniards.
Just like Madrid, there are a lot of clubs trying to find the best players for them this offseason and rumors come and go every day. We started one of the best times of the year for every football fan and now we’ll let you know some things that could be happening in the next weeks.
These are the latest soccer transfer rumors in European football.
Yannick Ferreira Carrasco Close To A Move To Arsenal
After leaving Atletico Madrid to go play for Chinese side Dalian Yifang, Yannick Ferreira Carrasco has been linked with a move back to Europe, but this time to the Premier League, as the Belgian player is on the radar of Arsenal and the move is closer as the days go by according to the player.
'Negotiations are going well,' the Belgium international said, according to Spanish newspaper Sport. Carrasco, an Unai Emery long-term target, believes he would suit playing in the Premier League. Yannick might be completing his move to the Gunners in the following weeks after the 25-year-old said he wanted to return to Europe.
Matthijs De Ligt Would Become Liverpool’s Highest-Paid Player If The Reds Sign Him
Liverpool have joined the race to sign Matthijs de Ligt this summer, just like any other major club in Europe. The Reds have been considered a great destination for de Ligt since the wonderkid would be pairing up with his Holland defensive partner Virgil van Dijk there.
However, if de Ligt gets to sign with the Merseysiders, that would bring some problems for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool’s hierarchy. Manchester United are willing to offer £236,000 per week to de Ligt while PSG could pay as much as £270k, which would put Liverpool in a difficult position.
The Mirror claims if the Reds want to land the youngster, they need to offer him more than any other player in the club's history, a number that would top the £200,000 that Mohamed Salah earns right now, and, in order to avoid any internal problems, they should increase Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah's salaries to match the Dutch’s. It sounds a little bit too complicated, but if they want Matthijs with them, Liverpool have to do it.
Manchester United Want Gareth Bale On Loan
The Gareth Bale saga continues with Manchester United reportedly interesting in getting the Welsh star on loan from Real Madrid as they refuse to pay a £75m fee for the former Spurs player. According to the Mirror, United would be interested in signing the 29-year-old on a season-long loan, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side holding an option to extend it for another 12 months.
It was rumored this week that Los Blancos were willing to offer Bale to facilitate a deal for French superstar Paul Pogba, but now Man. Utd. have offered a different option. With the landing of Eden Hazard, Madrid have made clear they don’t count with Bale next season and are eager to get rid of him. However, it looks like they will have to do it a different way since neither Tottenham nor Manchester will meet Real's price tag of £75 million for the Wales man.
Benfica's President Admits Joao Felix Will Leave The Club
Joao Felix is probably living his last days as a Benfica player. He’s linked with moves to the Premier League, with Manchester United and City being thought to be the frontrunners to get his signature. However, no team has met his £105 million release clause so far but that won’t last too long.
Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira believes the only way they keep Felix within their ranks is if they sell and loan him back. "If someone bids €120m it is not worth dreaming that he will stay. We are trying everything to ensure he stays, but the only way is if we sell him and keep him another year,” Vieira said, as quoted by the Mirror.
Felix would join Manchester United to accompany Marcus Rashford in the attack and create one of the best offensives in Europe or go to Manchester City as a very good replacement for Leroy Sane, who's been linked with a move to Bayern.
Tottenham Hotspur Eyeing Nathan Ake To Replace Alderweireld
Bournemouth are anticipating a £40 million offer from Tottenham Hotspur for one of their best players in the last seasons, Dutch defender Nathan Ake, according to The Sun. The 24-year-old player has increased his level ever since he moved from Chelsea, initially on loan, in 2016. Even Chelsea have been rumored to make a bid for Ake, but they can’t do anything due to restrictions of their transfer ban.
Ake is seen as a very good option to replace Belgian Toby Alderweireld, who looks close to joining Manchester United this summer. The Red Devils are said to place a bid to meet Toby’s £25m release clause. It is also believed Mauricio Pochettino has kept an eye on Callum Wilson and David Brooks, but right now, Ake is the priority.
Manchester United Willing To Pay David De Gea To Leave The Club This Summer
Manchester United have been a current topic to discuss in recent days with the Red Devils involved in plenty of rumors. One of the biggest involves their starting goalkeeper David De Gea and his uncertain future. The 28-year-old keeper is intending to run down the final year of his contract and select his next destination next summer, but that's not the best option for Manchester.
The club’s directives don’t want to see David go for free next summer and that’s why they’re likely to offer the Spaniard up to £20 million as a golden handshake in order to sell the Spaniard to Paris Saint-Germain this offseason before his deal expires, according to The Sun.
