RB Salzburg star Erling Braun Haaland has reportedly picked his new team amid interest from a group of Euro giants. Haaland has impressed everybody this season with his goals and good performances, which has led several teams to turn their attention to the wonderkid.
Clubs like Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, and Manchester United have been linked with the Norwegian striker. However, the Red Devils are seen as the biggest favorites to strike a deal for Haaland.
Moreover, reports claim the 19-year-old has told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer he wants to seal his Manchester United move in January.
Right now he’s one of the most in-form prospects in the world, after firing a stunning 28 goals in just 22 appearances this season, including eight strikes in a Champions League group that featured the defending champions Liverpool, Serie A giants Napoli and Genk.
Despite being followed by almost every big club in Europe, Erling appears to have made up his mind. According to The Mirror, the Norwegian sensation has informed Solskjaer that his dream would be to join United this winter.
Solskjaer, who recently traveled to Salzburg for initial talks, has promised him a key place in United's dynamic attack alongside Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial. Things have gotten better for the Red Devils after switching to a 4-4-2 formation.
Jesse Lingard has featured in the attack in recent weeks, so it appears likely that he would be the one to go to the bench if Haaland arrives at the turn of the year.
United are prepared to pay £80 million to sign the prolific striker, but again, the competition will be hard. Juventus appear to be the biggest threat to them, as Mino Raiola, the infamous Paul Pogba’s agent, is keeping all his options open but would ideally like to see his Erling move to the Allianz Stadium to link up with Matthijs de Ligt.
RB Leipzig sounded like the most likely option for the youngster, with Julian Nagelsmann even claiming initial talks ‘went well’ with the player. Yet, United’s financial muscle could change everything here, so time will tell how this whole thing will end up.
