Real Madrid is set to face a major roster overhaul in this upcoming summer transfer window, and that implies several players may be on their way out of Santiago Bernabeu.
Gareth Bale has been kind of mistreated by the Real Madrid crowd ever since making his record-breaking move to the Spanish capital, so naturally, with fingers always pointing his way, he might as well leave the team in the summer.
Jonathan Barnett, the Welshman's agent, insisted his client is happy at Real Madrid despite the boos and insults he faced from his home crowd in the team's latest outing, but he didn't rule out the possibility of him leaving the club at the end of the season.
"He is very happy here. He is a Real Madrid player and right now he is not thinking about a return to England. I can't predict the future, but for now, he is happy," Barnett told Deportes Cuatro, as quoted by AS.
The winger has underperformed this year after he was called to step up amid Cristiano Ronaldo's departure, struggling to stay healthy and establish himself as an important part of the team's offense.
Bale drew a lot of heat in Real Madrid's Saturday triumph vs. Eibar, with pretty much everyone in attendance booing him for yet another subpar performance for Zinedine Zidane's side.
Still, the Frenchman was quite supportive of Bale, even though he didn't do much to deny a possible summer exit.
"We will see. Gareth is a Real Madrid player with two years left on his contract. We’re not happy about the whistles, but the public comes to see their team do well. There was a reaction and I’m left with that, the public knows that the season is over, that we play to try and finish second," Zidane told reporters after the game.
