Internazionale are ready to bolster their squad as Antonio Conte wants to improve their already good form in Italy. They are reportedly targeting a midfielder and five names could be making their way to San Siro.
The 2019/20 season started the best way for Serie A giants, winning the first six games of the season. Nevertheless, that streak came to an end last Sunday when Juventus defeated them at the Giuseppe Meazza.
That result, alongside the loss suffered against Barcelona in the Champions League, has raised some concerns around Inter, with their midfield being considered their weak spot.
That said, Calciomercato report that directors Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio have listed five players as their targets, Ivan Rakitic, Nemanja Matic, Arturo Vidal, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Sandro Tonali.
It’s important to say that Milinkovic-Savic and Tonalli are the most ambitious targets of the list, given their potential and the good things they can give to Inter in the long run. The other three look like an easier target, especially Rakitic, who hasn’t seen a lot of action with Barcelona these first months of competition.
Rakitic would bring experience to Inter; he’s shown he can help clubs to win important things as he did with Sevilla and Barcelona. Conte would welcome the Croatian midfielder with open arms, as well as Arturo Vidal, one player he managed during his days with Juventus, who have won in Italy, Germany, and Spain.
These two players know what it takes to win at the highest level, which is something Inter is lacking right now. However, signing the Chilean player would be hard for the Nerazzurri, as Vidal has become an important player in Ernesto Valverde’s lineup.
As for Matic, he hasn't been so happy in Manchester United recently, so this move may be the easiest one for Inter.
