Juventus apparently have big plans for next summer transfer window, as the Bianconeri are following some of the best players in Europe right now. The Italian giants were reportedly keeping a close eye on Premier League clash between Liverpool and Tottenham last Sunday to check on four potential signings.
The Merseysiders earned a crucial 2-1 win at Anfield at the weekend to maintain their lead over Premier League title rivals Manchester City while aggravating Tottenham’s crisis, which could take some of their players to take off and look for a new side.
However, the Premier League title race wasn’t the most important thing for this group of spectators, as it’s suggested that a scouting mission was taking place during the encounter. According to Calciomercato, via the paper edition of Tuttosport, it’s claimed Juventus scouts were present at the game and had their eye on four players: Mohamed Salah, Heung-Min Son, Toby Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen.
Salah and Son are extremely important for their clubs, so it looks very unlikely for Juventus to strike a deal for any of them, but this is football and anything can happen. It remains to be seen what happens next summer, especially with Son, who has been linked with Napoli, as well.
Yet, things look different for Alderweireld and Eriksen, whose respective contracts expire next summer as they prepare to become free agents. If they don’t agree on new deals, Tottenham could see Toby and Eriksen leave next January, with Juventus monitoring this situation.
It’d be interesting to know why Juve sent a scouting mission to see these players. They have to know their quality and their current situations in their respective clubs. Still, this could be a possible threat for the Reds and the Lillywhites that Juve could target some key individuals in their current squads.
