Despite several reports suggesting they weren’t willing to let Leroy Sane go, Manchester City have apparently changed their mind on the Germany international and now have engaged in talks with Bayern Munich to work on a deal for the 23-year-old.
According to Christian Falk, Sane’s agent met with Bayern chief Giovanni Branchini earlier this month to discuss a potential move to the Allianz Arena for his client, and now, it seems like that move could be in the making if other reports are to be believed.
As per Sky Sports Germany, Bayern are still interested in Sane despite the players getting a serious knee injury back in August, while they also stated that the Bundesliga champions have started talks with City once again regarding a deal for Sane.
Leroy has been a great addition to Pep Guardiola squad ever since he made it from Schalke a couple of years ago. One would imagine City would regret losing a player of this quality, but they have reportedly identified a replacement for Sane in Spain winger Mikel Oyarzabal.
This guy has been brilliant for City and Bayern could use him to replace Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben, who left Bayern at the end of last season. Team Talk report City would look to get at least £100 million for their star, who has told the club he wants to join Bayern. All this could lead Sane to leave with City unable to keep ahold of the forward come the January or summer windows.
Before his injury, Sane was one of the most electrifying wingers in the world, but there are some concerns about his form once he returns. So far he’s bagged 39 goals and 45 assists in just 134 games for the Citizens.
