Manchester United are desperate to reinforce their lines this summer and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side is aiming to sign players both in England and abroad. They have been linked with Dutch wonderkid Matthijs de Ligt to reinforce the center of the defense, but there are some other areas that need attention ahead of next season.
They need reinforcements in a number of positions, with the wide areas and the right of defense needing some boosting as they only have Diogo Dalot as the only natural player to cover the right-back position. Thus, the Red Devils have been looking for the perfect piece to fill that position and it looks like they had found it a couple of months ago.
Daniel James’ signing was confirmed on Thursday and now the team is ready to put all their attention to landing a new right back, and Sky reporter Kaveh Solhekol claims United have made a 'substantial offer' for Crystal Palace’s star Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
There are not complete details about this offer, but that was something expectable given the fact that Wan-Bissaka has been on the radar of the team for some time now after his marvelous breakthrough season. According to prior reports, the bid would be likely to fall somewhere in between the £35 million that United were previously reported to have offered, and the £60 million that Palace are believed to be demanding.
Palace find themselves in a very good position to negotiate, as they don’t have the need or the intention to sell the 21-year-old right now. They can pick a price and stick to it no matter what.
This season Aaron had 35 Premier League appearances, becoming one of the most solid full-backs in the Premier League, so it’s not a surprise why Palace are trying to get the most out of this transfer.
