Maurizio Sarri is eager to manage N’Golo Kante once again. The Italian boss coached Kante during his lone season with Chelsea and now is set to bring the French midfielder to Turin, in an attempt to create a midfield trio capable of matching any other triumvirate across Europe.
Kante has been nothing but great in recent years, helping Leicester City to win the Premier League and his national team to win the World Cup in 2018. N’Golo is considered one of the finest players in his position right now, drawing attention from several clubs around the old continent, including Real Madrid.
Now with Chelsea Kante has kept a great level, leading his former manager Sarri to take note and inform his club's vice-chairman Pavel Nedved that he wants to bring the 28-year-old to Turin. According to the Daily Mail, Juventus believe they could get the 28-year-old with a bid worth £70 million, more than doubling the amount the Blues paid to bring Kante to Stamford Bridge from Leicester.
Sarri is believed to be wanting a combination of Aaron Ramsey, Miralem Pjanic and Kante in the midfield after trying plenty of combinations in that area during the start of the season. The Mail believes this approach could persuade Chelsea to part ways with Kante, but they don’t have a proper replacement for the Frenchman, even less after they were unable to make any signing in the summer.
Although there is no indication of when this move will happen, one would imagine Juve could go for Kante next summer, when Chelsea would be able to bring a proper substitute for the player. As stated before, Juventus aren’t the only club with their sights set on N’Golo, so this won’t be an easy job for whoever goes for it.
Besides, we still need to wait to know what the player thinks. Perhaps he’s not ready to leave London or is eager to seek a new challenge, but only time will tell.
