There's been a lot of back and forth regarding Atletico de Madrid's Antoine Griezmann, who has already stated his desire to leave the club in the summer, but whose future is still up in the air despite his talents.
However, for Tiago, a former Benfica, and Atletico de Madrid legend, there's already a young player that's turning a lot of heads and might as well become Griezmann's successor at Wanda Metropolitano.
When asked about the present of the Colchoneros and the Portugal national team, the former Chelsea midfielder claimed Joao Felix would be a perfect replacement for Griezmann, in case the Frenchman actually winds up leaving the club in the summer as expected:
"He could play in any team in the world. I don't think Benfica will accept selling him for €80m. He's a player who reminds me a bit of Griezmann," Tiago told El Partidazo de COPE.
Felix has been one of Europe's biggest sensations all season long, as he's shown great ability to play between the center backs as the team's number 9, while also being more than able of playing behind the striker as a playmaker or next to the sidelines on either flank of the pitch.
So far, the 19-year-old has drawn a lot of praise from former and current Portugal legends, including Cristiano Ronaldo, who allegedly gave Juventus the green light to make an approach on the wonderkid.
As for Griezmann, Tiago had nothing but praise for the former Real Sociedad standout, and even went as far as predicting where he'll end up playing next season:
"He is a great player and a great teammate. He has always given everything for the club (...) We all believe he will play at Barca next season".
According to some reports, though, Barcelona players may be kind of wary of signing Griezmann, so we'll have to wait and see how this story eventually pans out.
