Real Madrid and Barcelona are ready to battle it out for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar. The Slovak center-back has established himself as one of the leading defenders in Serie A thanks to his performances with the Nerazzurri.
So far, he’s made 102 appearances for Inter since joining them from Sampdoria, scoring four goals and providing three assists. This season, he has featured in all of the Nerazzurri’s 16 matches, providing an assist against Bologna.
Now, as per Corriere dello Sport, his good performances with the Serie A giants have led both Barcelona and Madrid to show interest in the defender, who is currently valued at €60 million according to Transfermarkt.
The 24-year-old has been great for Inter, so it’s not a surprise that bigger clubs are keen on acquiring his services. However, the Serie A outfit will certainly try to keep one of their most important players. Skriniar is one of the best players in his position right now, so whichever club manages to sign him, they would get a great asset.
He could be a long-term replacement for Sergio Ramos in Real Madrid or the leader that Barca’s defense needs since Gerard Pique is entering the final stages of his career. Either way, Skriniar will be a starter wherever he chooses to go, but neither Madrid or Barca will have a good time trying to strike a deal for Skriniar.
