Real Madrid are reportedly set to pursue another Manchester United star after several months linking them with midfielder Paul Pogba. It looks like Los Blancos will end up doing business with the Red Devils, but this time for one striker.
Marcus Rashford is one of the most promising young players in the world right now and Madrid know the quality of player they would be getting in the England international. Reports suggest he could leave Old Trafford looking for Champions League football, something that Manchester are unable to provide at this moment.
According to Don Balon, Rashford's good form has got him back on Real’s radar as they could do with strengthening upfront. Ever since he made his debut with the senior squad back in 2015/16, Rashford has had a slightly up-and-down career at Man Utd.
He was projected to do bigger things with Manchester, but things haven’t gone as expected for him or his club.
Still, he’s only 22 and has a bright future ahead. Perhaps joining a club like Madrid, with other good youngsters like Rodrygo or Vinicius Jr., is the best option for the English forward.
However, Don Balon claim United would ask for around €100 million for the striker, and that he could be on his way out of Old Trafford provided that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can’t take the club back into the Champions League for next season.
Right now United are nine points off the top four and are looking weaker than the teams in those positions, so it doesn’t seem like Rashford will stay for the long-run at the Theater of Dreams. Madrid aren’t going through the best moment right now, either, but they are way more likely to qualify for the Champions League than Manchester.
This could be a win-win for Marcus and Real, as Madrid could use him to rebuild their squad, while Rashford could take advantage of having more talented players around him to make him shine.
