Real Madrid are getting ready to land their desired players and the Spanish giants are weighing their options to bring in one of the most talented players in Europe right now. Los Blancos have been linked with several players over the last couple of months, but they now look closer to a Premier League star.
According to Sky Sports, Madrid would be testing the possibility of landing Manchester City figure Raheem Sterling with a bold move. The report notes they would make an offer of Gareth Bale plus £70m in exchange for Sterling.
Real representatives will travel to watch Sterling’s performances for England next month, at home to Montenegro, and away to Kosovo, before presenting a formal offer to the Citizens, Sky understands.
The player’s representatives met with Real’s general director Jose Angel Sanchez in the summer, as well, in a failed bid to take the England international to the Santiago Bernabeu. Florentino Perez knows if Madrid don't strike a deal for the winger, his £150 million current valuation will increase.
One obstacle for this move is City, and especially Pep Guardiola’s non-existent desire to sign Gareth Bale, who is in his 30s and won’t be an improvement to Sterling. If the Welshman decides to stay in the Spanish capital, then Madrid will have to offload a big number to persuade City to part ways with their star.
Sterling has been terrific for his team, scoring goals, providing assists and creating uncountable occasions, so it’s not a shock if one of the best clubs in the world is interested in his services. Madrid are struggling to find a good form this season, and Sterling could be the solution to all their problems.
