Although they have already spent over €300 million this summer, that might not be the end for Real Madrid, according to recent reports. Their summer spending is not over yet since they reportedly have an extra €155 Million in the club coffers to boost their squad before the transfer deadline.
Zinedine Zidane and his team didn’t have the best start of the season, drawing their most recent game at home to Real Valladolid, despite adding stars such as Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic.
The preseason wasn’t good for Los Blancos, either, as they faced painful losses while displaying a poor image. Although they retained the services of James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale, Zidane seems ready to add more quality to his team.
According to Marca, Madrid could still offload a further €155 million due to their strong financial position, and everything points out that Paul Pogba might be the player finding his way to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. His Manchester United future is still up in the air, and Madrid could take advantage of that.
Besides the World Cup winner, Madrid have been linked with a move for Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes, one of the most coveted players in European football this offseason. It was reported that Los Blancos could pay €70 million to take the 24-year-old to the Spanish capital, and that would help the team to add even another player.
Neymar was also on Madrid’s rumors at some point this offseason, but that deal is anything but likely for the Spanish giants, more knowing that Barcelona have already made offers for the player.
If they want to sign somebody, that should be Fernandes, who had a terrific season with Sporting Lisbon last season, scoring 32 goals in 53 matches. Ney and Pogba’s valuations are around €200 million, so a move for any of these assets doesn’t sound plausible right now.
