Real Madrid are set to make a last attempt to bring in Paul Pogba this summer. Los Blancos will test how is the current relationship between the midfielder and his club, Manchester United, ahead of the closure of the European transfer window.

Real have been monitoring Pogba all summer, and the player has stated his desire to move to the Spanish capital. Furthermore, a late move for the World Cup winner is getting prepared by Madrid, who hope Pogba to do some dirty job and force his own exit, as report the Times.

Zinedine Zidane identified Pogba as one of his two top targets this summer, with the other being Chelsea's Eden Hazard, who landed in the Santiago Bernabeu at the beginning of the transfer window. With Hazard in the club, now Madrid will focus on landing Pogba.

However, the Red Devils remain reluctant to let the player go this summer, especially after they missed the chance to purchase a central midfielder to cover the World Cup winner. Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini left the club in the last year, leaving the club short of personnel in that zone of the pitch.

Moreover, United’s boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stated that he’s confident the Frenchman will stay at Old Trafford, despite Pogba’s claims that there is a ‘question mark’ about his future with the club.

“You always put question marks around Paul,” Solskjaer is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail, discussing the role the media has played in this saga.

“I don't think it's odd saying enjoy playing, I have fun with my team-mates, I enjoy what I'm doing, I love my job and enjoy the game. Of course, that sentence with the question mark about him, there's always question marks about Paul.

“There's not one press conference that I've not answered a question about Paul Pogba. 80% of what he said [after the Chelsea game] was that he enjoyed that game and his time here.

“[The other 20% is] the question mark. Is he questioning you or are you putting question marks on him? I've got absolutely no concerns on Paul. For me, yeah, he's going to stay.”

Madrid were linked with a sensational move for Neymar this summer, but the Brazilian is eager to return to Barcelona. This has made Los Blancos turn their attention back to Pogba, but landing the 26-year-old is a very difficult task, even if you’re the biggest club in the world.
