Real Madrid is set to go through a major roster overhaul next season. On one hand, the team is eager to make a huge splash in this upcoming summer transfer window. On the other, it looks like several players are bound to make a run out of Santiago Bernabeu.
One of the players that would much rather leave the team in a couple of months is German star Toni Kroos, according to Spanish outlet AS.
Apparently, the 29-year-old has grown sick and tired of Real Madrid and, pending the team's approval, he'd like to head out the door as soon as possible.
His hypothetical departure would be great for a team that's trying to gather some cash and make room for players of the likes of Christian Eriksen or Paul Pogba, with Zinedine Zidane high on both of them.
Toni Kroos became a major part of Real Madrid's European success. He was a major bargain coming from Bayern Munchen in 2014, excelling with his vision, playmaking ability, and even defensive expertise when needed.
However, he's been far from the player they first signed five years ago and he's been heavily criticized all year long with Los Blancos mightily struggling to find success following the Zidane era.
He's just looked out of rhythm and careless from time to time, even though his talent is clearly undeniable, so he'd definitely have plenty of suitors lining up to try and acquire his services in the summer.
In the past, Manchester United had inquired about his availability, and with the Red Devils reluctant to put a price tag on Paul Pogba, perhaps Kroos could play an important role in a potential move for the Frenchman.
That's, of course, assuming Real Madrid are indeed willing to let him go in the summer, as he's still under contract and was one of Zidane's regulars in the team's starting XI during his first spell as the team's boss.
