Moussa Dembele has been drawing a lot of attention in recent times, especially from Premier League clubs that are ready to make a move for him. Dembele has been terrific for Olympique Lyon ever since he joined from Scottish giants Celtics, becoming one of the biggest promises in European football.
Chelsea appeared to be the favorites to land the striker, but the Blues now face competition from an array of Premier League rivals for his signature.
According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United, Manchester City, Newcastle and West Ham sent scouts who were in attendance to cast their eyes over the attacker in Lyon’s win over Bordeaux 2-1 on Saturday. Dembele scored the winner on the night, adding further incentive for these clubs to make a move for him.
So far he’s made 18 league appearances this season, scoring ten goals. Netting once every 144 minutes, leaving no doubt why he’s racked up strong interest from big clubs.
Lyon aren’t interested in letting the 23-year-old go this month, so they’ll try everything to retain the Frenchman and do business next summer. Chelsea are seen as the most likely destination for him, but things don’t look that easy for them at this moment.
Frank Lampard confirmed that he's interested in attacking reinforcements before Saturday's 3-0 victory over Burnley.
"He’s a player I know and the club know but I’m surprised to see his name pop up so regularly when it’s not popping up in my conversations so regularly. There’s quite a few players in the last week that I could say the same about.
"We’re looking to strengthen in high areas and with goalscorers because it’s where we’ve been found pretty short in home games recently but they’re hard to find and I’ll only want to go that way if we know we’re improving the squad that we have already."
The Blues could team up Tammy Abraham with Dembele, creating one of the most dangerous attacks in England.
