Zidane Asks Real Madrid To Make A Run At Luka Jovic

Luka Jovic

Luka Jovic has turned a lot of heads this season after impressive performances with Eintracht Frankfurt both in Germany and Europe. The Bosnian player is expected to receive a lot of offers from some of the best teams in the continent, including Barcelona and Real Madrid; however, is the latter which feels more confident about landing Jovic.

Talking to Goal ahead of Los Blancos clash with Rayo Vallecano, Zinedine Zidane had the chance to say the team’s intention “is to have more strength in attack”, which quickly led to rumors that say the Frenchman is pointing out to have Jovic within his ranks next season and that is a very plausible scenario right now.

If there was something Madrid lacked this year, that was a big number of scoring from their strikers. Karim Benzema has found the net 30 times this year while Mariano Diaz has done it just twice. After Cristiano Ronaldo departure to Juventus last summer, Los Blancos have struggled to find a player to fill CR7’s goal quota and Luka might be the answer for their problem.

Besides the Bosnian, Madrid has also started to pay attention Raul De Tomas, who is currently on loan at Rayo Vallecano and has netted 14 times this season. Zizou knows him, as they worked together in the team’s youth categories and now will try to make it in the first team.

“That's an issue between the clubs. I'm not going to say anymore because I'm not in charge of that. It's an agreement between Real Madrid and Rayo and it has to be respected. He's a player that I coached when he was with Castilla and he's got no shortage of talent. Perhaps what he was missing was the opportunity to play for a top-flight team and he's doing very well and has scored a lot of goals this season. He links up well with his teammates, knows how to play good football and I'm really happy for him," Zidane claimed.

Real Madrid will intend to make blockbuster moves this offseason as they’ve been linked with the likes of Eden Hazard or Neymar; with these two creating opportunities, a striker would be necessary to finish plays the best way. Maybe Jovic is the right answer for those issues.
