Kylian Mbappe recently had great words towards Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, fueling rumors about a potential arrival in the Spanish capital. The French forward has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu and every time he speaks, you can tell he’s more than open to find a new challenge, with Madrid thought to be his favorite destination.
Mbappe admitted in a recent interview that fellow Frenchman and Real Madrid coach Zidane was his idol as a child.
Zidane was asked for his take on this during his pre-match press conference, and he responded by calling on the 21-year-old to be 'the example' for the coming generations, as reported by Marca.
"Now he (Mbappe) is the example. We are examples for those who play football. I have been an example because some people liked how I played," Zidane explained, ahead of Los Blancos' Copa del Rey tie with Unionistas.
Rumors were putting Mbappe in Madrid over the summer, but Paris Saint-Germain managed to retain the player, who landed from Monaco for around €145 million back in 2017. If Real want to sign him, the France international would command a much higher fee, if he’s on the move on from the Parc des Princes shortly.
Mbappe has been great for Les Parisiens and Zidane has admitted that he is 'in love with' the World Cup 2018 winner; further, Mbappe himself confessed that it is his dream to play for Madrid in the future.
It looks like they have a big change to land the talented youngster, but this move won’t be that easy for Los Blancos.
