The Golden State Warriors led the NBA in 3-point field goal attempts and makes last season, which shouldn’t be a surprise since the team had Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Jordan Poole. The Dubs attempted 3,540 3-pointers in 2022-23 and made 1,363.
The Warriors traded Poole to the Washington Wizards this offseason for Chris Paul, so their 3-point volume and makes may decrease this season since Poole made 214 3s last season and Paul made only 98.
However, with Curry and Thompson leading the way, the Warriors will still be an elite 3-point shooting team. Paul, Andrew Wiggins, and newcomer Dario Saric are reliable shooters as well.
With the 2023-24 season set to start soon, let’s take a look at the 10 best 3-point shooters on the Warriors, who are expected to start Paul, Curry, Thompson, Wiggins, and Draymond Green this season.
10. Draymond Green

Draymond Green appeared in 73 games for the Golden State Warriors last season. He shot 30.5% from 3 and made 40 3-pointers. The four-time champion averaged 8.5 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.8 assists.
Green is a career 31.4% shooter from 3. He has made 611 shots from 3-point land during his stellar career with the Warriors. The Michigan State product has career averages of 8.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.6 assists in 758 games with Golden State.
The most 3-pointers Green has made in a season is 111. That came during the 2014-15 season. It will be interesting to see how many 3s Green makes this season playing alongside Chris Paul and Stephen Curry, two of the greatest passers in NBA history.
9. Jonathan Kuminga

Jonathan Kuminga made 54 3-pointers last season in 67 games. The swingman shot 37.0% from 3-point land while averaging 9.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
Kuminga is a career 35.3% shooter from deep. The youngster knows this season is a big campaign for him since Warriors head coach Steve Kerr only played him 10 times in the 2023 playoffs.
“This upcoming season is definitely the year,” Kuminga told Leonard Solms of ESPN in August. “A lot of people are expecting so much from me – and myself; I’m expecting a lot. It’s a lot of pressure, but I don’t really pay attention to the noise. The pressure is always going to be there. It’s just [on] me to go out there and perform.”
Kuminga has career averages of 9.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists with the Warriors. It will be fascinating to see how he performs this season.
8. Rudy Gay

Rudy Gay signed a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors this offseason. He played for the Utah Jazz last season and shot 25.4% from 3-point land. The UConn product made 33 3-pointers in 56 games.
The 37-year-old Gay has career averages of 15.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 1,120 games with the Memphis Grizzlies, Toronto Raptors, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, and Jazz. He played with Warriors stars Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson on the 2014 FIBA World Cup Team. Team USA won the 2014 gold medal.
Gay is a career 34.6% shooter from 3. He has hit 1,186 3-pointers since entering the NBA in 2006.
7. Moses Moody

Moses Moody appeared in 63 games for the Golden State Warriors last season. He shot 36.3% from 3 and made 49 shots from 3-point land while averaging 4.8 points and 1.7 rebounds.
The 21-year-old Moody is a career 36.3% shooter from deep. He has made 89 shots from 3 in 115 games with the Warriors. Moody has career averages of 4.6 points and 1.6 rebounds.
With Jordan Poole and Donte DiVincenzo gone, Moody should get more playing time this season.
6. Cory Joseph

Cory Joseph signed a one-year contract with the Golden State Warriors this offseason after playing for the Detroit Pistons the last three seasons. The veteran averaged 6.9 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in 2022-23 while shooting 42.7% from the field, 38.9% from 3, and 79.2% from the free-throw line.
The 32-year-old Joseph has career averages of 7.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists with the San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings and Pistons. He won the 2014 championship with the Spurs over the Miami Heat.
Joseph is a career 35.0% shooter from 3. He has made 473 shots from deep since entering the NBA in 2011.
5. Andrew Wiggins

Andrew Wiggins helped the Golden State Warriors win the 2022 title over the Boston Celtics in six games. The All-Star swingman signed a four-year, $109 million contract extension in October 2022. Wiggins will make $24.3 million this season.
A Kansas product, Wiggins shot 39.6% from 3 last season in 37 games. He made 89 3-pointers while averaging 17.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
The 28-year-old Wiggins is a career 35.4% shooter from 3-point land. He has improved his jumper since getting traded to Golden State during the 2019-20 season. Wiggins is shooting 38.6% from 3 in 193 games with the Warriors.
4. Dario Saric

Dario Saric signed a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors this offseason after playing for the Phoenix Suns and Oklahoma City Thunder last season. The power forward gives the Warriors size and shooting off their bench.
Saric has fully recovered from an ACL injury that cost him the entire 2021-22 season. He appeared in 57 games last season and averaged 6.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists while shooting 45.8% from the field, 39.1% from 3, and 82.9% from the free-throw line.
The 29-year-old Saric has career averages of 11.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists with the Philadelphia 76ers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Suns, and Thunder. He’s a career 36.0% shooter from 3-point land.
3. Chris Paul

A future Hall of Famer, Chris Paul averaged 13.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 8.9 assists last season for the Phoenix Suns while shooting 44.0% from the field, 37.5% from 3, and 83.1% from the free-throw line. The Suns traded Paul to the Washington Wizards in the Bradley Beal trade and then Washington dealt him to Golden State.
Paul was on a plane to New York when Phoenix traded him. He was then playing basketball at his gym in North Carolina when the Warriors acquired him.
CP3 is a career 36.9% shooter from 3-point land. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is excited to coach Paul since “The Point God” is “one of the best pick-and-roll players in the world.”
“We’re going to run plenty of pick-and-roll because Chris is one of the best pick-and-roll players in the world,” Kerr said. “But he’s also showing he’s very interested in incorporating some of the stuff we already do — our split cut game and our movement. He’s such a smart player that he’s already figured out ways to be effective. We’re going to lean into him and he’s going to lean into us, and we’ll meet halfway and the offense will form.”
Paul has made 1,642 3-pointers during his legendary career. It will be intriguing to see if he can win his first ring with the Warriors.
2. Klay Thompson

Klay Thompson is one of the greatest 3-point shooters in NBA history. He led the NBA in 3-point field goals last season by hitting 301 3s in 69 games. Thompson shot 41.2% from 3-point land.
Thompson has career averages of 19.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists with the Warriors while shooting 41.6% from 3. The Washington State product has made five All-Star teams, two All-NBA teams, and one All-Defensive team.
The 33-year-old Thompson recently told Anthony Slater of The Athletic that he wants to spend his entire career with the Warriors, who have won four titles and played in six NBA Finals in the Thompson era.
“Yes,” Thompson said. “Absolutely. I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else. To play for one franchise, man? That’s so rare. In any sport. Football. Baseball. Basketball. Australian Rules Football. To play for one club is insane. It’s some real legendary stuff.”
Thompson has one year left on his contract. He’ll make $43.2 million this season. The All-Star signed a five-year, $189.9 million contract with the Warriors in the summer of 2019.
1. Stephen Curry

In 56 games for the Golden State Warriors last season, Stephen Curry put up 29.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game while shooting 49.3% from the field, 42.7% from 3, and 91.5% from the free-throw line. The two-time MVP made 273 shots from 3-point land.
The 35-year-old Curry has career averages of 24.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 6.5 assists with the Warriors. He’s made the most 3-pointers in NBA history and is a career 42.8% shooter from deep.
Curry has won four titles, two regular-season MVPs, one Finals MVP, two scoring titles and one steals title with the Warriors. He has made nine All-Star teams and nine All-NBA teams.
“I still feel like I’m in the prime of my career,” Curry told PBS in the summer. “In a sense of what I’m able to accomplish. Just out there and what the future may hold, trying to achieve, hopefully win more championships and push the envelope as far as I can.”
Curry was voted the best point guard in the NBA by general managers. The Warriors lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the 2023 playoffs in six games, so it will be fascinating to see how Curry and Co. bounce back this season.
