Before This Season, Patrick Beverley Told LeBron James And Stephen Curry Their Time Was Over

The Los Angeles Clippers are in everybody’s mouth’s right now after an incredible meltdown that saw them blow a 3-1 lead against the Denver Nuggets, playing poor basketball in the second half of Game 7, the most important game of the series. It looks like everybody around the league was rooting against the Clippers and they showed that last night after the game was over and they became the 13th team to lose a 3-1 advantage.

A lot of the criticism was aimed at Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, the biggest stars on the team, but there is also one guy that talked a lot before and during the season about his team, showing impressive confidence ahead of the 2019/20 NBA season. Patrick Beverley was the happiest man alive when he found out the Clippers have gotten Leonard and George, going to tell everybody this year’s title belonged to the Clippers.

First, as soon as he found out the Clips got their duo, he went to knock on James’ door while they both were in a hotel in Las Vegas.

“It is pretty much over for you guys now,” he told LeBron last summer.

Man, these receipts…

Moreover, when the season started, he raised the bar and made a bold claim against one of the most dominant players the league has seen in recent years, Stephen Curry. During a win against the Warriors in October 2019, Beverley was very confident about his team’s chances this year and the next five.

Last week, too, Clippers guard Patrick Beverley was captured on video taunting the crowd at the Chase Center, the new $1.4 billion arena the Warriors have opened in San Francisco, for leaving the game early during L.A.’s blowout win.

“Hey, hey, hey, hey,” Beverley shouted. “Where you all going? Where you all going?”

And Beverley hounded Curry throughout the game. With 1:28 to play in the second quarter, Beverley forced Curry into a turnover, turned and jawed at the Golden State bench. Beverley then squared off with Curry at the other end of the floor and began talking trash.

“You had the last five years,” Beverley told Curry, according to a source. “The next five years are mine.”

We’re not sure what five years he meant when he said this stuff. If he thought the Clippers were going to make history this year, he was right, but not by winning titles. They became the 13th team in NBA history to waste a 3-1 lead. Beverley didn’t do much to help his team and now they have to wait for next season, where the league will be even more competitive than this year with the return of Curry and his Warriors.
