Tyler Herro made a bit of history tonight, breaking Dwyane Wade’s Miami Heat record for most points scored by a rookie in a playoff game. With 36 points on 56% shooting, he led the way for Miami in their 112-109 Game 4 win over Boston.
A career high 37 points couldn’t have come at a better time for @raf_tyler!

Following the magical display by Herro, DWade himself responded to the performance in a simple post on Twitter.
It was a great record while it lasted 😆 https://t.co/U8Gp7g6SXl

Dwyane Wade is regarded as the greatest Miami Heat player ever. In his 15 seasons with the team, he brought them Championships with an average of 22 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.6 assists on 48% shooting.
He held that scoring record for 16 years before Herro finally broke it today.
But is it just a fluke game, or is it a sign of things to come for the young stars? That much remains to be seen, but he has certainly impressed this season and in these playoffs especially. If Miami comes out with a Championship by the end of this run, Herro will be a huge part of the reason why.
Regardless, the future is bright in South Beach.
