While Scottie Pippen’s relationship with Michael Jordan is coming to the light now, one relationship we don’t know much about is Pippen and Dennis Rodman. Given their positions in the Chicago Bulls, their dynamic didn’t get a lot of attention and spotlight, especially during ‘The Last Dance’ docuseries.

Obviously, winning three consecutive NBA championships would bond anyone, as that is an experience very few people have had. But after all the comments Pippen has made about Michael Jordan, fans are left wondering whether Pippen has a similar distaste for the Bulls’ third superstar, Dennis Rodman.

Thankfully, the two actually have a good relationship. In a recent interview with GQ Sports, Scottie Pippen was asked about his relationship with Dennis Rodman (33:39 mark). Pippen said that he and Dennis are different, but bonded with each other on the Bulls, and to this day, they are very close friends who hang out with each other.

“For sure. I still hang with Dennis. I still enjoy Dennis today… As much as I did as a teammate. We kick it differently. We’re both older, we’re more professional now but we still enjoy seeing each other doing well and just communicating. That camaraderie grew strong when me and Dennis came together, he became a man, and I matured as a man. And today, we’re friends.”

Rodman and Pippen still being friends is a great sight to see. The two haven’t made many public appearances. But it is clear that they cherished the time they spent playing together, and take a lot of pride in what they accomplished in Chicago.

So much so, that Pippen and Rodman said that the Chicago Bulls could have gone 50-0 during the lockout 1998-99 NBA season if they hadn’t been broken up.

The Bulls of the 90s created a legacy of excellence that will not soon be matched. And Pippen and Rodman were two of the central figures for the Bulls during that time, as they went on to win three consecutive NBA championships between 1996 to 1998.
