The Golden State Warriors have been on an incredible roll to start the season. Last night, the Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets to pick up their 8th win of the season. The Warriors now have the best record in the NBA and have lost only one game to start this season so far.

Stephen Curry had a good game, putting up 20 points, but once again struggled from the 3-point line, going 4-11. Jordan Poole continues to make a case for himself to be named the NBA’s Most Improved Player, leading the game in scoring with 25 points. Gary Payton II and Otto Porter Jr. also contributed with key scoring off the bench.

The fact that the Warriors are playing this way despite Steph Curry struggling, and without key stars like Klay Thompson and James Wiseman is truly incredible. Fans expected the Warriors to come back this season but attributed any potential success to Klay Thompson’s successful return.

But the Warriors have proven themselves capable of winning key basketball games without Thompson so far. And his return will be a welcome sight for the Dubs going forward. As things stand, however, the Warriors are thriving and playing some of the best basketball in the league.

Fans reacted positively to the Warriors obtaining the best record in the NBA. Most fans were thrilled and amazed that they have established themselves as a contender even without Klay Thompson in the team. And they are anticipating his return so that he can make the team even better.

While the Warriors have been playing some excellent basketball, it is important to put things into perspective. Other than the Los Angeles Lakers, the Warriors haven’t played or beaten any team that can be considered a championship contender. Even Andre Iguodala noted that the Warriors have had a favorable schedule up until this point.

The true test will occur deep into the season when the Dubs will have to face the likes of the Suns, Jazz, Heat, Nets, and Bucks. But if they can continue to build on this start, and get their key players back from injury and playing at the highest level, the Warriors will be ready to revive the dynasty.
