On the court, Anthony Edwards is a natural-born winner, and the Minnesota Timberwolves will be the first to testify to that. Off the court, though, Edwards has been taking some losses that will cost him a pretty penny.

According to the latest intel from TMZ, the star shooting guard is on the hook for $14,000 per month after the courts ruled in favor of his baby mama, Alexandria Descorches. Their son, Amir, was born in 2023, but Edwards claims to have never actually met the child.

“According to court docs, the amount was determined based on the Minnesota Timberwolves guard’s monthly income of nearly $4.8 million … and the figure represents a massive increase over the baseline amount of around $3,200 per month,” reported TMZ. “Alexandria was asking for a higher amount in child support.”

$14K is way more than the average baseline for child support, but it’s just a drop in the ocean of Edwards’ massive yearly salary of $48 million. He spends at least $30,000 per month on vacations alone, so it was hard for him to argue against the court’s ruling. Of course, it doesn’t help that Edwards wants absolutely no parental custody rights, putting all the burden on Descorches.

“The docs say Alexandria pulls in around $1,016 per month,” TMZ added. “She testified that she hopes to complete her college education to better support the child. The court noted that Anthony has enough money to spend $31K on food, $70K on entertainment, and $30K on vacations every month. In addition to child support, the judge ordered Anthony to take out a life insurance policy worth around $2.6 million with Alexandria named as the primary beneficiary … and pay Alexandria’s legal fees totaling more than $21K.”

Edwards may not care much now about this development, but his payments will amount to over $2.6 million over the next 16 years. That’s not to mention obligations to his other baby mama, Ayesha Howard. He owes her roughly $3,000 per month, bringing up Edwards’ regular child support payments to at least $17,000, more than some people make in a year.

He also has another child with a woman named Daja, someone he has since cut ties with. Let’s not forget that Edwards also has his own family to take care of. He married his longtime girlfriend, Shannon Jackson, in 2026, and they have a two-year-old daughter together named Aislynn. If you’re keeping count, that’s four kids for Edwards with four different baby mamas.

All of these connections are going to cost Edwards in some way, but he doesn’t seem too concerned right now. With virtually endless funds and the promise of more in the future, Edwards can easily cover his child support payments with plenty left over. That’s why he can operate with complete freedom both on and off the court, knowing that his fortune is secured.

Ultimately, it’s clear what kind of life Anthony Edwards lives behind the scenes. As one of the NBA’s biggest stars, he has embraced the celebrity lifestyle and everything that comes with it. No matter the situation, Ant is going to have his fun, even if it means committing himself to paying millions of dollars in child support for someone he’s never met.
