Tyler Herro Addresses Trade Rumors: “I’m Focused On Getting Better And Getting This Team Better… I Don’t Plan On Going Anywhere.”

Tyler Herro is one of the Miami Heat’s most exciting young prospects. He was a key part of their 2019-2020 NBA Finals run, and while he was unable to prevent the Miami Heat’s elimination in the first round, there’s no doubt that he has a solid future ahead of him as he develops.

Even though Herro’s second season was fairly productive (15.1 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 3.4 APG), his name has been featured in a lot of people’s trade packages. The Miami Heat already have two All-Star caliber players in Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, and they are a third star away from creating one of the best big threes in the league. In trading for any star, it is likely that the other team would ask the Miami Heat to give up Tyler Herro as a trade chip due to his age and potential.

Despite all the trade rumors that have been swirling around his name, it seems as though Tyler Herro is unbothered. When recently addressing the media, Herro suggested that he has stopped listening to trade rumors and that he doesn’t plan on leaving the Miami Heat.

Tyler Herro on potential trade rumors: I done listening to all that, honestly. Any time we're not playing my name is brought up in something. I'm focused on getting better and getting this team better…We're building up to win the championship and I don't plan on going anywhere. pic.twitter.com/nDqJesHhDg

I mean I’m done listening to all that, honestly. I think every time we’re not playing or even if we are playing, my name is brought up in something. It is what it is at this point. I’m focused on getting better and getting this team better. Obviously, we’ve seen Milwaukee win a championship last night and it looked like a lot of fun. That’s what we’re building up to do is win a championship and I don’t plan on going anywhere

It is clear that Tyler Herro is committed to trying to win a championship with the Miami Heat. While he isn’t necessarily a star, Tyler Herro can still be a solid contributor, and it is possible for him to take a jump next season. The Miami Heat will certainly hope he improves and becomes that consistent secondary scorer that they have lacked this season.
