Kendrick Perkins Claims Lakers Should Bring Back JaVale McGee After Marc Gasol’s Recent Performances

Kendrick Perkins, just like a big part of Lakers Nation, isn’t happy with Marc Gasol and his performances with the team so far this season. The Spanish big man landed in Los Angeles as a great addition to the Lakers, but so far he hasn’t shown the best possible level with the purple and gold.

Of course, Gasol is not the same player that won All-NBA honors and was named DPOY but he can still be a good piece for any team. He was great in Toronto and his signing was terrific for Lakers fans but so far Marc hasn’t been as good as expected. During the Friday night showdown between the Lakers and Chicago Bulls, Perkins took to Twitter to express his real feelings about Gasol, urging the Lakers to bring back a known face.

During the offseason, the Lakers traded JaVale McGee to the Cleveland Cavaliers in order to create cap space and sign Gasol, but that move hasn’t worked as well as expected. Now McGee is having a very good season with the surprising Cavaliers and the Lakers are missing him.

The Bulls are picking on Gasol every time down the court putting him in every pick n roll! Lakers might need to hit the Cavs and get McGee back some how. Real Talk!

Gasol was a great defender, no doubt about it, but he’s not the same player he used to be. JaVale can be a great rim protector that could take a lot of pressure off Marc’s shoulders. Well, now it’s unlikely to see the Lakers doing this move at least until the trade deadline. They lost McGee and Dwight Howard (Philadelphia) in the offseason and even though they landed Gasol and Montrezl Harrell, the Spanish player seems to be struggling on the defensive end of the ball.

He can be great at the offense but the Lakers need to make some adjustments for him to find his best form or play smarter than his opponents.
