NBA Rumors: The Timberwolves Could Land Devin Booker For A Trade Package The Suns Can’t Refuse

The Minnesota Timberwolves won the NBA Draft lottery again and Karl-Anthony Towns couldn’t be happier. For the first time in a couple of years, it feels like Minnesota could actually turn into a contending team soon, even without Jimmy Butler.

The Timberwolves already paired Towns with his lifelong friend D’Angelo Russell mid-season, so that proves that they’re willing to go the extra mile to keep their All-Star big man happy. Now, they must do whatever it takes to get the Three Amigos together and also land Devin Booker.

It’s not a secret that Booker, Russell, and Towns have been close friends since they were kids. Now, they’re dominating the league and have a bright future ahead of them, so there’s no reason to think that pairing them would be a bad idea, even though they clearly have a lot of work to do on defense.

So, now that the Wolves are entitled to the 1st overall pick, it’s the perfect time for Booker to demand a trade and pull the trigger. They have an offer the Suns just can’t refuse:

Trade Package: No. 1 Pick, James Johnson, Jarrett Culver, Josh Okogie, 2020 first-round draft pick from Brooklyn for Devin Booker

The Timberwolves have plenty of assets to give up. James Johnson’s grittiness and defense, Jarrett Culver’s upside as a lottery pick, Josh Okogie’s defense, and a couple of first-round picks, including the first overall.

They own the Brooklyn Nets’ pick (mid-first round) and have enough young players to pull this move off. The Suns would still have a nice core, Deandre Ayton, Cam Johnson, Dario Saric, Kelly Oubre Jr, and 3 top-15 draft picks. It’s just too good to say no.
