Utah Jazz legend John Stockton has been in the news for the last few years due to his stance on the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccination. He recently submitted a declaration to the court as part of his lawsuit against the State of Washington outlining his reasons for distrust against vaccination.

“I contracted the flu despite the vaccine. My child was hurt because of the vaccine. Maybe there was some truth in our Chiropractor’s words. I spent a lot of time over the next 30 years reading books, paying attention, and asking questions. To find the truth, I used a mosaic approach seeking data, anecdotal information, personal experience, common sense, and contrary indicators.”

Stockton became a believer in alternative medicine during his time with the Jazz, working with a chiropractor and team trainers who experimented with alternative medicine. The all-time assists and steals leader credits alternative medicine for making him able to endure 17 seasons without a single missed game.

The main reason for Stockton’s disbelief in vaccination comes from spending two nights in a Charlotte hospital and missing games as a result because of the flu, even though Stockton had taken flu vaccinations.

Stockton didn’t exactly elaborate on how his child has suffered as a result of vaccination and has made previous statements that show his personal distrust in modern medicine since COVID-19 broke out.

John Stockton Supported Kyrie Irving’s Anti-Vaccine Stance And Claimed It Has Killed Athletes

The face of anti-vaccination in the NBA became Kyrie Irving in 2021-22, when he missed over half the NBA season because he refused to get vaccinated. As Irving faced mass controversy from mainstream media, Stockton showed his support for the then-Nets point guard for remaining anti-vax in the face of pressure.

“You have a lot of supporters Kyrie. Not all them of can get to you, and you can’t get to all of them, but there’s every bit a majority out there that’s sitting there pulling for you. They’re just not quite as bold as he is. I’m proud of him as an individual to take that kind of individual risk and be that bold for what you feel is right.” I have such great respect for Kyrie Irving for stepping up like that. He’s right in the mix of it, he has a tremendous amount to lose in endorsements. So I salute him.”

Stockton also claimed that hundreds of athletes had passed away due to COVID.

“I think it’s highly recorded now, there’s 150, I believe now, it’s over 100 professional athletes dead – professional athletes – the prime of their life, dropping dead that are vaccinated, right on the pitch, right on the field, right on the court.”

He would later change the number to the thousands in a separate statement.

“I had the proof in my hands, the piece of paper with the names… I think it’s in the thousands now. Don’t quote me on that one. I’m not saying 1,000, but it might be. It’s a big number.”

There are no statistics to prove the exact numbers Stockton claims. It’s important to know that many vaccinated people have passed away since taking the jab for a multitude of reasons, and there’s no scientific information proving that there’s a correlation between vaccination and tragic deaths.
