Rapper Bow Wow recently shared the story once again of Michael Jordan throwing away the Allen Iverson shoes he had worn when he visited the Chicago Bulls legend’s house. Now, Marcus Jordan has confirmed that his father did indeed throw away those shoes.

Here is what Bow Wow had to say during his appearance on The Underground Lounge.
“So every Scream Tour, when I would go to Chicago, I would stay at the house,” Bow Wow said. “I come through the gate, Marcus is like, ‘Bro, why the f*** are you wearing Reeboks in this house? You know my dad is gonna see that s*** and wild out. It was A.I. The braids. The tats. Chuck is it for me.
“I wake up the next morning, (Jordan says), ‘Get up. Whose are these?’ Marcus’ dad took them questions,” Bow Wow continued. “… If you watch the documentary, you know who John Michael is. Old dude with white hair, that was next to Mike. (Jordan picks up a phone and says), ‘John Michael… what size?’ Pshh. Bop. Put them on. I ain’t never seen them Iversons to that day. Them motherf****** is gone.”
With how serious Jordan was and is about shoes, this story has always been very believable for me. He was never going to allow someone to wear anything other than Jordan Brand or Nike shoes in his house, and Bow Wow found that out the hard way. You do wonder what exactly happened to those shoes that were taken from him.
Tim Thomas Revealed Michael Jordan Forced Him To Wear Nike Gear At His House
While Bow Wow managed to get inside Jordan’s house while wearing those shoes, former NBA player Tim Thomas wasn’t even given that chance. Thomas, who was an Adidas athlete, revealed Jordan forced him to wear Nike gear at his house.
“But I was an Adidas athlete, so I walk in MJ’s house, I got all Adidas gear on,” Thomas said. “So, MJ stopped me at the door, ‘Hey, oh, you gotta take that off.’ So, they basically stripped me down and put me in all Nike gear. So, when I end up leaving MJ’s house, the funny thing was all my Adidas gear was packed up in the bag sitting outside. He didn’t even want to leave the gear inside.”
So, you better not wear a rival sneaker company’s gear when you go to Jordan’s house. It turns out, though, he would have an issue if he saw them at your house as well. Jordan once took a knife and shredded all Puma products from his friend’s closet. That loyalty to Nike, or whatever you want to call it, is quite amazing.
Jordan signed with Nike all the way back in 1984 and the Jordan Brand was then launched in 1997. Their partnership has proven to be one of the most successful ones in history and it was reported last year that Nike is the most popular sneaker brand with Jordan in second place.
Jordan Brand reportedly brought in a whopping $6.59 billion in revenue for Nike in the fiscal year 2023. With the Bulls legend getting a 5% royalty on all sales involving his brand, he would have pocketed over $300 million as a result.
