After hearing of LeBron James’ newest media project, Draymond Green issued a public statement that called out his friend for not yet making time for his podcast, ‘The Draymond Green Show.” But this week, in a comment on Instagram, James confirmed his upcoming appearance on the show and gave his fans another thing to look forward to this year.
“He knows I’m going to do his pod,” wrote James after a series of laughing emojis.
Draymond apparently already knew that LeBron would be a future guest star, but it didn’t stop him from calling out the NBA basketball legend in front of all his fans.
“I must say I am a little upset that LeBron James is like, going on the podcast and he still hasn’t been on the Draymond Green Show,” Green said. “Pick the bone with him that I got to pick with him later…”
Draymond Green was one of the first prominent NBA stars to launch their own podcast. But unlike other shows in the industry, Draymond does the whole thing on his own except for the rotating list of players that he likes to have on frequently.
James has long been a player that Green has admired and it will be interesting to see what they talk about when the time comes.
So while the King has not yet been one of Dray’s guests, it’s not far-fetched to imagine they already had plans in the works since the two players share the same agency. Currently, we don’t yet know a time to expect LeBron’s guest appearance but it seems he’s making more and more time for the media these days as his age keeps ticking up in years.
LeBron James Is Growing His Media Empire
After launching the ‘The Mind Game’ podcast with JJ Redick, LeBron James is set to star in his biggest public media campaign since ‘The Shop,’ which spans over four seasons. Fans are excited to see this new content from James, but it’s not the first time he’s done something like this — and it won’t be the last.
Back in 2021, James famously starred in his own movie, Space Jam: A New Legacy, which grossed roughly $163 million worldwide. While the movie itself was not super popular among the fans, it was the start of LeBron’s growing investment into the entertainment/media business.
After moving to Los Angeles full-time in 2018, James has doubled down on expanding his SpringHill production company, which is quietly becoming a big player in the movie industry.
When LeBron eventually retires, it’s likely that he will look to go full-time into his media projects, including movies, documentaries, and podcasts that the whole world will consume. But first, he’ll have to follow through on a promise to a friend and make sure to give Draymond Green the podcast opportunity he’s been asking for.
