History was made in Los Angeles on Saturday night, as LeBron James reached 40,000 career points. James needed nine points in Saturday’s game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets to get to that mark and did so in the second quarter itself. NBA fans praised LeBron for accomplishing yet another incredible feat.

One says LeBron is the undisputed GOAT now.

A fan says no one else will ever get to 40,000.

One joked that even robots will find it hard to surpass LeBron in points.

This will even be hard for AI driven humanoid robots to beat one day in the future.

A fan says there are no words left to describe James.

One fan can’t wait to see LeBron get to 50,000 points.

I can’t wait until he get 50,000 points

Everyone by now has learned the lesson that you never bet against LeBron, but I would say 50,000 is beyond reach even for him. It took him 368 games to go from 30,000 to 40,000, and I don’t see him playing another 350-odd regular season games as he is 39 years old now. Then again, I suppose you never say never.

Whether he gets to 50,000 or not, LeBron has accomplished something tonight that I doubt anyone else will in our lifetime. The 20-time All-Star is the first player ever to score 40,000 points in the NBA, and this was the shot that made history.

With his family members in attendance, LeBron got a standing ovation from the crowd, and deservedly so.

It was thought that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had put the all-time scoring record beyond reach when he finished with 38,387 points. James, who is averaging 25.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 7.9 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game this season, is going to end up well clear of him.

You wonder what LeBron’s final points total is going to look like. I don’t think anyone would be able to break his eventual record, at least not for a very long time.

LeBron James Spoke On What It Would Mean To Get To 40K Points

Following the Lakers’ win over the Washington Wizards in their last game on Thursday night, James was asked what it would mean to reach 40K points.

“I can’t say no. Of course, no one has ever done it. For me to be in this position at this point of time in my career, I think it’s pretty cool. Does it sit at the top of things I’ve done in my career? No. Does it mean something? Of course. Absolutely. Why wouldn’t it? To be able to accomplish things among the greatest players in the league has been a dream of mine. To hit feats and milestones throughout my career, they all mean something to me. Obviously, there’s a pecking order with which ones come higher, but I would be lying to you if I said it means nothing.”

The championships would always be at the top of that pecking order, but it appears LeBron realized this milestone was a bigger deal than he thought as he walked into the arena.

β€œIt’s a little bigger deal than I thought it would be, I see.”

Of course, it was going to be a momentous occasion. No one had ever done it before and as I said, I don’t see anyone else doing it for a very long time either.

LeBron would now be hoping that he can mark the occasion with a victory. The Lakers have lost their last seven games against the Nuggets and this would be the perfect time to end that losing streak.
