Stephen Curry is the greatest shooter of all time, and he has made his mark on the NBA by winning four championships with the Golden State Warriors. He is a student of the game, having learned different things from all the greats before him.
And despite having a brilliant relationship with LeBron James, he doesn’t think the King deserves a spot on his all-time NBA starting five. Curry named which players would make it to his best team ever, and he didn’t pick himself either.
Stephen Curry’s All-Time NBA Starting Five:
Magic Johnson
Michael Jordan
Kobe Bryant
Tim Duncan
Shaquille O’Neal
“Past or present, NBA players? I would pick Shaquille O’Neal as my center,” Curry said. “Tim Duncan as my power forward. Larry Bird as my small forward. Am I on the team? Michael Jordan as my shooting guard. Late addition, I’m not taking Larry, I’m taking Kobe as my small forward, Jordan as my shooting guard, and Magic Johnson as my point guard.”

Stephen Curry is very humble, that’s why even though he joked about it, he did not add his own name to the list of players on his all-time starting five. But the fact that he did not choose LeBron James at small forward is interesting, instead electing to play Kobe Bryant out of position in that role on his starting five.
Stephen Curry and LeBron James have faced off in four NBA Finals. with James coming out on top once and Curry getting three championships. But LeBron has enjoyed the latest laugh after the Lakers beat the Warriors in last year’s playoffs. Curry might have found it hard to include the rival that knocked him out of the playoffs on this list.
Stephen Curry Has Revealed That Michael Jordan Inspired Him
While Stephen Curry has remained fairly mum about the GOAT debate, this list seems to suggest that he thinks Michael Jordan is the greatest to ever do it over LeBron James. And that’s not surprising, he once revealed that MJ inspired him.
“What Michael said about not expecting anybody else to do something he wouldn’t necessarily do on the court. And the work and all that. There’s an element of that. There’s an element of awareness, the value of everybody in the locker room.”
Stephen Curry knows what it takes to win at the highest level in the NBA, he is levels above most other people this league has ever seen. Which is why he likely wouldn’t engage in comparing superstars directly. But his all-time starting five does seem to be pretty stacked. It would be impossible to beat that team.
