Kyrie Irving Donated $40,000 To A 93-Year-Old Woman Who Is Being Sued By A Developer To Give Up Her Family Home

A 93-year-old woman from South Carolina is being sued for not wanting to give up her family home to a developer, and Kyrie Irving has helped her out with a $40,000 donation.

Kyrie Irving has received endless criticism from fans and the media about some of the takes he’s shared in the last few years. His anti-Semitism controversy cost him playing time as well as money.

And while Kyrie has gotten things wrong at times, he has repeatedly shown that he is a man of the people. And the way he is helping out one old lady from South Carolina goes to show that he cares a lot.

“The Dallas Mavericks‘ guard Kyrie Irving has donated $40,000 to a 93-year-old South Carolina woman in her legal battle to protect her family home from an encroaching developer,” per Daily Mail US.

“Josephine Wright, a long-time resident of South Carolina’s picturesque Hilton Head Island, is being sued by Bailey Point Investment Group for allegedly blocking the developer’s progress on a 147-unit complex next to her property – a 1.8-acre plot that was first settled by escaped slaves and has remained in her family since the Civil War. Wright inherited the land in 2012 from her late husband.”

That is a very generous donation from Kyrie, and she surely needs to help with the legal expenses of going up against a developer. Irving is under no obligation to help this lady, but the fact that he has done it anyway shows that he is not afraid to put his money where his mouth is.

Kyrie Irving Donated $38,000 For The Families Of Accident Victims Just Earlier This Year

Kyrie Irving has made it a point in the recent past to help as many people as he can. Earlier in the year, he donated $38,000 to the families of two victims in a North Texas car accident. He didn’t even reveal it, the families spoke about it, which is how the NBA world found out.

“I was suddenly shocked (and) surprised. I was seeing the name Kyrie Irving and he donated $38,000, immediately I Googled his name,” said Chandrashekhar Reddy Yedavelli. “Everyone has the money but no one has the heart to donate it… A big thanks for helping us and our family,” he added.

It then came out a while later that Irving had also donated $65,000 to other causes to help those that are less fortunate. Kyrie Irving gets a lot of hate when he gets things so wrong, so he should get just as much love for gestures like these. The point guard is a magician on the court and an angel for the people that are struggling off the court.
