There is no doubt that the Boston Celtics are currently in a tricky situation right now. They fell to 0-3 in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat following a blowout Game 3 defeat.
After the game, Jayson Tatum delivered a strong message to his teammates. Tatum urged the team to have some pride and bounce back in the series despite the odds being stacked against them.
“Yeah, I think it’s just tough as it is, as tonight was we just got to try to move on,” Tatum said. “Prepare. Get ready. Practice. Film and stuff for tomorrow. Obviously, we’re in a tough position, but we’ve got to have some pride and bounce back and just be better come Tuesday.”

While Tatum wants his teammates to have pride and orchestrate a comeback in the series, it all starts with him. Tatum had an awful Game 3, which played a crucial role in the Celtics’ defeat.
He recorded just 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 assists while shooting 6-of-18 from the field, including 1-of-7 from downtown. The Celtics fanbase will hope to see a much-improved version of Tatum in Game 4 to at least avoid getting swept.
Jayson Tatum Reveals How He Blocks The Noise During The Playoffs
Making a comeback in a playoff series after being down 0-3 has never been done in NBA history. Evidently, Jayson Tatum and co. are currently getting destroyed on social media.
If the players saw such negative narratives about themselves, it would further harm their chances of making a potential comeback vs. the Heat. Thankfully, Tatum has found a way to deal with the haters. The Celtics superstar revealed that he deleted Twitter before the start of the playoffs to avoid hearing negative narratives about him.
“I deleted Twitter from my phone to start the playoffs,” Tatum said. “So, honestly, I haven’t seen anything good, bad, or indifferent since Game 1 against the Hawks. I’m certain that after every game you win, you’re the best player and the best team. And when you lose, you’re not the star, and the team’s not good enough. I’m sure there will be some of that, but out of sight, out of mind.”
It’s understandable that Tatum doesn’t want to hear such things about himself. But scoring just 14 points in a must-win game is simply unacceptable. Keeping that in mind, can we really blame the fans for being angry at him? Most certainly not.
