Steve Kerr made headlines for his comments about the Los Angeles Lakers players securing foul calls by flopping after Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

Kerr even urged the NBA to penalize players for flopping. In Game 5, Lakers head coach Darvin Ham took a shot at Kerr, denying his assessment of the team.

“Yeah, we don’t teach flopping,” Ham said. “We teach our players to play downhill and attack the paint and be forceful.”

Darvin Ham’s answer was in response to a no-call on Dennis Schroder when there was clear contact from the Warriors’ defense. However, the Lakers’ head coach used this opportunity to throw shade at Steve Kerr.

The Lakers missed out on the chance of wrapping up the series in Game 5 as they lost 106-121 vs. the defending champions.

LeBron James Responded To Steve Kerr’s Recent Criticism

During the postgame conference, LeBron James was asked a variety of questions related to the current situation of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Among them, James was asked for his views on Steve Kerr’s criticism of the Lakers. James gave a sound response to it by claiming that he has never been a part of a flopping team in the NBA.

“We don’t work on flopping. That’s not even a part of our game, our game is to attack the paint. We don’t mind physical contact, we actually like the contact and don’t shy away from it. We’re just not a team that goes out there looking for flopping opportunities. That’s just not us. It’s actually never been any team that I’ve played on in my 20 years where we have been a flopping team.”

Nowadays, many individual players and teams have incorporated flopping as a part of their game in the NBA. After all, selling flops can earn a team a chance of scoring easy points from the charity stripe.

Either way, LeBron James was quite adamant about never being a part of any teams that view flopping as a strategy. It is evident that LeBron wanted to get his point across about the Purple and Gold wanting to win the series fair and square, instead of relying on cheap tactics.
