LeBron James has been vocal about wanting to play in the NBA alongside his sons. The goal that he had stayed a few years ago was to play with Bronny James when he is eligible to be drafted in 2024.

Bronny James has blossomed in recent years and is looking like he will be a serious candidate in next year’s NBA draft. He recently committed to USC, and when LeBron was asked about his old comments, he doubled down on his wish.

“I was serious, and I’m still serious about it,” said James, as per RealGM. “If my mind goes, then my body will just be like, ‘OK, what are we doing?'”

“I’ve done what I’ve had to do in this league. My son is going to take his journey. And whatever his journey, however his journey lays out, he’s going to do what’s best for him. And as his dad, and his mom, Savannah, and his brother and sister, we’re going to support him in whatever he decides to do. So, just because that’s my aspiration or my goal, doesn’t mean it’s his. And I’m absolutely OK with that.”

Bronny James has a very real chance to make it to the NBA now, especially with LeBron continuously vocalizing his support for his son. What team he might end up on remains to be seen. His college performance at USC will be a big factor in where he might be drafted, and both he and LeBron will be hoping that everything works out so they can play together.

LeBron James Shared His Pride Regarding Bronny James’ Decision To Attend College

In the modern era, young basketball players have plenty of options regarding where they want to play. Bronny James’ case was no different, he could have chosen to go to the G League or to play abroad instead of going to college. But he chose this route, and LeBron James spoke about his happiness at seeing the first member of the ‘James Gang’ go to college

The Los Angeles Lakers are going through an unexpected charge to a potential championship. Their revamped roster has looked good, and they are currently in possession of a 2-1 lead against the Golden State Warriors. If LeBron James can lead them to a title this season, he will strengthen his GOAT case and likely be free to go join whatever team his son gets drafted to in a year.
