Austin Reaves is currently playing just the second season of his NBA career, but he has already become a crucial part of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Reaves was also instrumental in the Lakers’ first-round series win vs. the Memphis Grizzlies. Evidently, he has received nothing but love from his teammates, including LeBron James.

“This m*****f****r,” James told Dave McMenamin of ESPN. “I don’t give a f**k about, like, athleticism; how great you can shoot the ball; how high you can jump; how fast you can run. I like high basketball IQ guys. Obviously, you got to have that s**t to win a championship. You got to have guys that can do extraordinary s**t. But, like, I’ve always had a liking to guys that just know how to play the f*****g game of basketball.”

Receiving praise from a player like LeBron James is one of the highest honors for any athlete in the NBA.

While Reaves’ flight to stardom has taken many by surprise, James earlier revealed that he knew the 24-year-old was special since their first practice together. James’ claims came after Reaves exploded for 23 points in the Lakers’ Game 1 win over the Grizzlies.

Austin Reaves Wants To Play His Entire Career With The Los Angeles Lakers

After a breakout sophomore season with the Lakers, many have already started to wonder what’s next for Austin Reaves.

Well, the shooting guard certainly has his priorities clear. He revealed a couple of weeks ago that his plan is to finish his career with the Lakers.

“I wanna be a Laker. Obviously, they gave me my first opportunity. I was a huge Laker fan growing up, a big Kobe fan, so honestly, just to be able to play for the Lakers organization is special, and I wanna be a Laker, so hopefully, we can get this done, and I can stay there for hopefully my whole career.”

Playing for the Purple and Gold is a dream come true for most players in the NBA. Reaves has fulfilled that and now wants to finish his career with the iconic NBA franchise.

Considering Reaves hasn’t even played two full seasons in the league, talking about the final destination of his career seems a bit farfetched. At the end of the day, it’s good for any franchise to have a player who shows such loyalty.
