The defending champions of the NBA, the Golden State Warriors, will start their quest to win back-to-back titles against the Sacramento Kings.

The Kings have surpassed all expectations this season and are one of the most dangerous teams in the Western Conference. Stephen Curry is aware of it and revealed it would take everything that the Dubs have to win the first-round series vs. the Kings.

“Playing Sacramento, they’re a great team, they’ve had an amazing season,” Curry said. “It’s going to take everything to beat them four times, especially starting on the road, but we love the opportunity in front of us!”

The Warriors finished the season with a historic win against the Portland Trail Blazers, earning them the sixth seed in the conference. But that doesn’t mean the Warriors have automatically fixed all their flaws in one game.

They are still one of the worst teams on the road (11-30 record) in the NBA. Considering they will start the series away from home, they are likely disadvantaged against the Kings.

Klay Thompson Is Excited To Face Off Against The Sacramento Kings

Stephen Curry is cautious about the Warriors playing the Kings in the first round of the playoffs. On the other hand, Klay Thompson has different views.

In fact, Thompson revealed why he feels it would be amazing to play the Kings in the postseason.

“That’d be amazing…That’d be special for Northern California,” Thompson said. “They’ve got great fans, we’ve got great fans. Mike B’s got them boys playing together and hard. That’d be really cool just for Northern California, which is a basketball hotbed at the moment. It would be nice for the travel; that would be really nice.”

Apart from that, it’s the first time in NBA history that both franchises have advanced to the playoffs in the same season.

So regardless of which team advances to the second round, it will be one heck of a series and one that fans will remember for years.
