Stephen Curry is one of the best players in the NBA right now, as well as one of the most influential figures in this world and sports in general.

The Golden State Warriors superstar has had an incredible career, and even though the Dubs are struggling this season, he keeps winning. This Thursday, the 4x NBA champion signed a contract extension with Under Armour, which will have huge repercussions for him, even after his retirement.

“What we want to do, is win every single day. If we do that, this will be a lifetime deal,” Under Armour founder Kevin Plank said, according to Nick DePaula.

Curry's Under Armour extension, negotiated by @Octagon, projects to be one of the industry’s richest-ever deals & could surpass his total NBA contract earnings.

Curry also had some words for Plank, praising him for building the big company that Under Armour is right now and thanking him for this opportunity.

“The fact that KP has led the charge from his mom’s basement [in 1996], to what UA is today and there’s a reinvigorated energy around what we can do together, it was important to have that shaking-of-the-hands moment,” said Curry.

Curry & Plank met up to each sign the contract.

Octagon founder Phil de Picciotto on Curry’s extension:

“Done right, this partnership is forever. Curry Brand is now cemented into the Under Armour universe. He’s not just an ambassador. He’s not just an endorser. This isn’t just a deal. He will be leading a business.” pic.twitter.com/HOHWZSqBMn

With this deal, Curry will earn a lot of money, even surpassing what he’s earned during his entire NBA career. Moreover, he will be leading the business as the president of the Curry Brand, having a lot of control over the things done by them.

Nike Horribly Lost Stephen Curry To Under Armour In 2013

The Stephen Curry-Under Armour partnership has worked wonders, as the player has released several signature shoes under this brand, doing things that only Michael Jordan could do before.

Nike could have all of this, but they horribly missed out on this chance in 2013, making a series of mistakes that ultimately cost them Curry. That’s a mistake they must remember every day, but there’s nothing they can do to make it up, especially now that Curry is signing a huge extension with Under Armour.

Steph is very proud of his work there, and he’s not stopping anytime soon. Curry is doing big things with them, and even after he calls it a career, they will keep coming.
