Point guard Trae Young is well-known for his exploits on the court, and he is an offensive engine that can carry a team. However, he is also well-known for showboating and trash-talking on the court, and it seems as though some of that happened today.
During the recent game between the Atlanta Hawks and the Golden State Warriors, Trae Young got a clutch steal on Stephen Curry. He then ended up wagging his finger, which is reminiscent of Dikembe Mutombo doing that after his blocks.

It is clear that Trae Young was hyped after making a big-time play. What is impressive is that he made this play on the defensive end, as Young is not known for being an elite defensive player. It makes sense that he was hyped after doing that, and it doesn’t seem as though the finger wag was directed at anyone in particular.
This season, Trae Young has averaged 27.0 PPG, 3.0 RPG, and 10.1 APG for the Atlanta Hawks. He has been more efficient as of late, and hopefully, he can help the Atlanta Hawks make the playoffs once again.
Trae Young Was Reportedly Disconnected From The Locker Room
Previously, we have seen a lot of criticism about Trae Young’s leadership of the Atlanta Hawks. In fact, a report mentioned that there was “a serious disconnect” between Trae Young and his teammates.
“Starting with the locker room, it’s no secret there’s a serious disconnect between Young, the team’s star player, and many — though some say nearly all — of his teammates. He is not beloved, sources say, and there’s a strong view that Young fails to lead, to understand or care to understand what is required of him, and that as a result the team will never achieve what it should until that reality is fixed.”
Hopefully, things have gotten better on that front since this report. The Atlanta Hawks have hired coach Quin Snyder to try and make this team work, and perhaps next season, we will see the Atlanta Hawks be a top-tier contender in the Eastern Conference.
Of course, it will still be up to Trae Young to carry this team to the playoffs this season. That is the burden that comes with being a superstar-level player. With that being said, he definitely has the talent to do so, and perhaps we’ll see him rise up to the challenge.
