Darius Garland had a good outing in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ close 114-108 win over the Charlotte Hornets, but that didn’t stop Donovan Mitchell from taking a hilarious dig at his teammate.

Garland finished with 28 points, 6 rebounds, and as many assists as he played a key role in helping his side overcome a 16-point second-half deficit. But it was his crucial free throws that sealed the game, and Mitchell good-naturedly rubbed it in when Garland was talking to the media after the win.

Mitchell had a decent game himself with 23 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. For the Hornets, Terry Rozier led with 27 points, while P.J. Washington had 19, and Nick Richards had 15 to show for it. But they couldn’t fend off the Cavaliers’ gritty comeback.

Can The Cleveland Cavaliers Win The Championship This Season?

The Cavaliers have looked impressive ever since they roped in Donovan Mitchell and have been one of the pleasant surprises this season. The side has been consistent and playing effective and efficient ball, making a case for themselves as legitimate playoff contenders.

However, when it comes to their title aspirations, they have their work cut out. The likes of Mitchell, Garland, and Evan Mobley have been steering the ship, but they will need to bring their A-game in the postseason.

At the time of writing, the Cavaliers are placed 43-27 and are one of the playoff favorites in the East.

They do face stern competition from the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Milwaukee Bucks as they aim for a top-seed finish, but with the team playing the way they are, expect the Cavaliers to give the others a run for their money.
