Pascal Siakam didn’t pull his punches when he slammed a CNN anchor for mispronouncing his name on live TV.

The Toronto Raptors star didn’t take it too well when anchor Zain Asher didn’t get his name right, along with Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. And he made his feelings clear on Twitter. Asher called the forward “Pascal Shakeem.”

Taking to Twitter, Siakam wrote:

Yoooo pascal shakeem is crazy 😳💀 https://t.co/ypcZ9lj7aU

Yoooo pascal shakeem is crazy

Out of the 25 international players who suited up on the All-Star weekend, there were nine players from eight different countries. This isn’t the first time player names were mispronounced with Keith Pompey once calling OG Anunoby “OG Obanoby.”

Pascal Siakam Was One Of The 2023 All-Star Game Replacements

It didn’t come as a surprise when NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski said the league expected to name Anthony Edwards, Siakam, and De’Aaron Fox as replacements.

It should be noted that all trios have been instrumental for their sides this season. Siakam was one of the names doing the rounds ahead of the trade deadline but will now finish the season in Toronto.

The forward has been averaging 25.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 6.1 assists this season and has been a vital cog for Toronto, playing seven seasons for the same outfit. During the tournament, Siakam maintained that his goal was to win with the Raptors. Per Doug Smith of the Toronto Star:

“Obviously the player that I am, it goes with the team success. I want to win, that’s the only thing I’m really focused on

Siakam ended his All-Star stint with 12 points in 15 minutes as Team Giannis pipped Team LeBron 184-175. Now the attention will turn to the Raptors’ campaign as they gear up for a playoff push.

The team is placed tenth in the East with a 28-31 record and will make a beeline for the playoffs. They play the New Orleans Pelicans soon after their return and will follow it up with skirmishes against the Detroit Pistons and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
