They finally made a move though, acquiring Kevin Love after he was bought out by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Love is a career 37% three-point shooter, and at 34, can contribute in a meaningful way to the Heat if he can fit in.

And while it will be tough for the Miami Heat to make it out of a top-heavy Eastern Conference, they have shown time and again that they cannot be written off. And Love revealed his excitement at being part of the team in a lovely message of his own.
“Yeah, it’s the third chapter. Being part of the Miami Heat is a special thing, man. So, all I care about is winning, man. Excited to be a part of this and to know a lot of guys on the team. Obviously [I] know Pat [Riley], Andy [Elisberg], Coach Spo, entire coaching staff. Excited, ready to get on the floor.
“Heat Nation, I’m excited. I know we get back to work Friday. [I’ll be] in the gym as of tonight. Let’s go.”
The Heat are just 2.5 games behind the 5th seed in the Eastern Conference, and they should be able to overtake the Brooklyn Nets. Getting the 5th seed would mean they would avoid the Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics, and Milwaukee Bucks in the first round, which could be huge for them. And the team will be hoping that Kevin Love can help them do that.
