Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James will be missing Saturday’s All-Star practice due to personal reasons.

The late development did the rounds ahead of the 2023 NBA All-Star Game that sees him and Giannis Antetokounmpo as captains of the West and East respectively.

The immediate concern would be around whether James has picked up an injury of some sort, considering he’s been playing with ankle issues throughout the season. News of an injury would further dent the Lakers’ chances of making the postseason — especially after their impressive trade moves earlier this month.

Lebron James will not be available for today’s NBA All-Star Practice and Media Day due to personal reasons, per @NBAPR.

The hope is that he does return on Sunday, There’s no doubt that the NBA may have planned something planned for the all-time leading league scorer. It would certainly be a dampener if ‘The King’ misses the marquee weekend affair.

LeBron James Has A Message To His Lakers Teammates Ahead Of The All-Star Games

While the All-Star break comes as a respite for teams, especially the Lakers who have had a roller-coaster season riddled with ample drama, LeBron James asked his teammates to enjoy the brief downtime, while also asking them not to take things too easily.

The message comes after the new-look Lakers registered a comprehensive 120-102 win against the New Orleans Pelicans earlier this week.

“Yeah, we gotta a lot of work to do still. Every game is going to be tough for us, especially going on a stretch. We know on the type of push that we need to make. I want the guys to enjoy the break, but don’t get a 100% detached because we want to come back and try to keep this thing going.”

The win certainly comes as a confidence booster, especially since they need to win a major chunk of their games as the regular season enters its final 20-game stretch.

LA will have a stern test as they face the Golden State Warriors once they return from the break, and the hope will be that they will have a well-rested James to spearhead the unit again as they make their playoff push.
