The Kyrie Irving saga is starting a new chapter this week, as the Brooklyn Nets point guard requested a trade from the team when absolutely nobody expected it. This situation has changed a lot of things around the NBA, with Irving now set to leave the Nets either before the trade deadline strikes or in free agency.

This has sparked many rumors around the league, with some reports suggesting a move to Los Angeles for Kyrie to reunite with LeBron James or team up with Luka Doncic in Dallas. The 2016 NBA champion knows he has plenty of options right now, but not every team will be willing to give him the type of deal he wants to get.

Meanwhile, people are still trying to find answers to why Kyrie decided to request this trade, and some have shown the receipts of things he did before this shocking decision. Just like he did in Cleveland and Boston, he deceived Nets fans and even his good friend Kevin Durant.

Kyrie Irving Sent A Big Message To Kevin Durant Before Requesting For A Trade

Instagram page ‘Hooper’ shared a video of Kyrie calling Kevin Durant his ‘best friends’ days before requesting a trade, which is really interesting considering the most recent developments. During a post-game interview, Ky said nothing but good things about Durant.

“Yeah, that’s just respect for the brotherhood,” Kyrie said when commenting on KD’s good remarks about him. “He’s my best friend right there.”

Again, it’s unclear why and when Kyrie decided that he would like to part with the Nets, but now his exit is imminent. Reports claim that KD was shocked by this decision, perfectly explaining that nobody expected this.

The Nets were playing great basketball and even after KD went down with a knee injury, Irving took over and led the squad to get some big wins. Just when things were going smoothly for them, Kyrie surprised everybody not only in Brooklyn but the rest of the NBA.
