Patrick Beverley is quite the polarizing figure among NBA fans, as some love his antics and the way he plays the game, while others despise the fact that he tends to go overboard and plays recklessly at times. He also runs his mouth in a manner that few others can match and while he goes after a lot of his opponents, there is one man, in particular, who has incurred Beverley’s wrath.

Beverley has had Chris Paul on his firing line for quite some time now. He famously went on a media tour after the Phoenix Suns were shockingly eliminated in Conference Semifinals and to say he didn’t hold back on Paul, would be an understatement. He called him a cone on defense and said he once destroyed CP3 when they played against each other at the LeBron James Camp. Beverley was asked about his relationship with Paul during his recent appearance on Cold As Balls and here’s what he had to say.

(starts at 12:56 mark):

“No relationship.”

When asked if there’s any mutual respect, Bevereley responded, “Obviously, he is in a position, ‘Point God,’ anytime I see Chris Paul it’s smoke. That comes from all the things and all the success he’s had in his basketball career. But yeah is it preseason am I going to pick you up full court? F*** yeah. So from now on until you retire, or until I retire, or until my f***ing bones pop out of my f***ing knees, I’m going to hound you every single time until we’re done.”

You wouldn’t expect anything else from Beverley. He does say there is mutual respect but we doubt that is the case. He hit CP3 with the “too small” celebration when the Los Angeles Lakers played them recently and as he says, he’ll keep going after Paul for as long as they are in the league. While it doesn’t look like these two will ever be on good terms, Beverley has mended fences with Russell Westbrook, something which would have been unthinkable even a year back.

Patrick Beverley Had Christmas Dinner With Russell Westbrook

Beverley and Westbrook’s beef started all the way back in 2013 when the former cheap-shotted the latter in the playoffs. Russ suffered a season-ending injury because of it and needed multiple surgeries to get back on the court. The two of them went at each other for years, so when Beverley was traded to the Lakers this offseason, all eyes were on the two of them.

To the surprise of many, they got along very well with Beverley calling Russ his best friend on the team. They took their friendship a step further by having dinner together on Christmas and perhaps one day in the future, we might see Beverley and Paul share such moments. It is quite unlikely though.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
