Kevin Durant’s future with the Brooklyn Nets is starting to look increasingly shaky as the Kyrie Irving saga shows no signs of resolving. Things may still end up with the franchise keeping their superstars on board, but the Nets are reportedly holding their stance of not offering a max contract, something that their owner is also backing.

While there is a long way to go before anything is decided, questions about where KD might end up are already being asked. And with the speculation running rife, Portland Trail Blazers stars have been suggesting that KD could end up on their team. Damian Lillard posted a photo of Durant in a Blazers jersey on his Instagram, while even Jusuf Nurkic has made posts suggesting that he should join the team.

And with all these rumors and suggestions flying around, fans have been trying to find evidence to support it. A reel on Instagram has gone viral, which shows Durant talking about how if he had to choose a player to take a shot with the game on the line, he would pick Damian Lillard.

Within itself, this doesn’t mean much. Lillard’s clutch ability is something that is widely respected by players around the league. However, there are only a few organizations with the assets and the stars to tempt Durant to join them if he does indeed decide that he is done with the Brooklyn Nets.

The Blazers acquired Jerami Grant as they attempt to engineer a quick rebuild around Damian Lillard and if they could somehow land KD, it would make them instant contenders for an NBA championship. The possibility cannot be ruled out, but it’s safe to say at this point that if it does happen, it would be quite a surprising move.
