The Golden State Warriors took note of everybody ruling them out while they were injured and with a poor roster in the past couple of seasons. The Dubs had a lot of work to do to get back in contention, but once they knew they would have a chance to compete for the NBA championship, never stopped.
They remembered everybody who tried to bring them down, with Stephen Curry calling out Kendrick Perkins for his bold take. Moreover, the other Splash Brother has some things to get off his chest, and he did after Game 6 and the series were over.
Klay Thompson took a shot at Memphis Grizzlies’ Jaren Jackson Jr. for tweeting an old Warriors’ motto, “Strength in numbers”. Klay saw that March tweet and didn’t appreciate that, telling Jackson that he had to earn some stripes before trying to moc the Dubs.
“There was this one player on the Grizzlies who tweeted ‘Strength in numbers’ after they beat us in the regular season, and it pissed me off so much. I can’t wait to retweet that thing. Freakin’ bum. I had to watch that. I’m like, ‘This freakin’ clown.’”
Of course, this wouldn’t go unnoticed and one of Jackson’s teammates reacted to Klay’s words, trolling him for thinking about JJJ that much.
After a Grizzlies reporter said that Jackson lives rent free in Klay’s mind, Ja Morant agreed with that notion, going further and saying that the big man has a lot of property there.
got a lot of real estate 😂 https://t.co/5JYqhn8Vw0

“got a lot of real estate ,” Morant quote-tweeted the reporter.
The Grizzlies and Warriors went at it during the 2022 playoffs and some would argue that they were the hardest rivals the Dubs faced on their way to the championship. This could be the beginning of a new rivalry in the Western Conference, and it looks like players from both teams are already embracing it.
Klay is now a four-time NBA champion and is keen to keep adding more trophies to his resume, but teams like the Grizzlies will be ready to ruin his plans.
