The 2021-22 NBA season witnessed a unique time when former players were being offered short-term contracts to compensate for the unavailable players due to the COVID-19 protocols.

One player NBA fans were excited to see back on the court was none other than ‘Iso’ Joe Johnson. Johnson played in the NBA for 17 years prior to his return and was a perennial All-Star player during the peak of his career.

Johnson was signed by the Boston Celtics, the team that drafted him in 2001, to play for a short while for them. Johnson played 1 game for the Celtics, as he was only signed to a short 10-day contract.

But his lone appearance for the franchise could have him lined up to win the biggest team accolade in the NBA; the NBA championship.

If the Boston Celtics were to win the NBA championship against the Golden State Warriors, Joe Johnson would win his first NBA championship ring.

The Celtics have been one of the best teams in the league, but they need to win 4 games against a very strong Golden State Warriors squad in order to win the NBA championship.

While Joe was drafted by the Celtics, he only spent his rookie year with the franchise before he was traded to the Phoenix Suns.

Johnson found success with the Atlanta Hawks, where he played for 7 years and became a regular All-Star. His final All-Star year came in 2014, while he was playing with the Brooklyn Nets.

Prior to his brief return to the NBA, Johnson last played for the Houston Rockets in 2018. Since leaving the NBA, Iso Joe became a star player in the BIG 3 league, where he was a multiple-time MVP. His brief return to the Celtics could yield very positive results for Joe Johnson.
